Yes pricking pain is most probably due to back problem. It is caused by released inflammatory mediators or direct compression on the nerve.Lot of percutaneous procedure like TFESI, Ozone therapy, Nucleoplasty, annuloplasty, endoscopic discectomy, Cooled water RF ablation exists to cure you of your pain. A pain physician will correlate your clinical findings and MRI finding to reach a final diagnosis and guide you appropriate treatment
