Heloo i have been diagnosed with pityriasis rosea, and before i have been diagnosed with this i have made an appoinmet for blood donation. I dont know if PR effects my blood in anyway and if i should cancel the appoitment. What virus is the PR caused by ?
The cause of pityriasis rosea is unknown. Research has shown that PR does not have an allergic, bacterial or fungal etiology. A virus may be the cause, but, this has yet to be proved.
PR is a purely dermatological condition. It does not affect blood. You can safely donate blood; only ensure that the IV canula site does not have the lesion.
