What Will A Renal Sonogram Tell About Hematuria And Bladder Leakage?

I went to a urologist about bladder leakage. It is not stress or urge incontinence, just a low grade dribble effect that seems to come and go throughout the day, regardless of activity level. He said they have found some blood in my urine and now wants me to get a renal sonogram. I am thinking the blood could have been from rough sex and do I really need the sonogram? What will it tell us?

Hello,

I think it is necessary to have a sonogram and it is just the beginning. You may need other tests such as urine analysis and uroculture. Also cystoscopy may be performed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
