What Would A Bump On The Bone Behind The Ear Possibly Be?

My one year old has had two ear infections since may 1st on two different antibotics. I have noticed for the last few days him pulling his shoulder to head or pulling at his ear. Today I noticed a quarter size lump on the back on his ear more on the bone than on the ear.

Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to mastoiditis.

For that you can take tablet acetaminophen.

You may require broad spectrum antibiotics after ENT consultation.

Along with that you may require X Ray of that affected part after consultation.

Take steam inhalation. Avoid ear piercing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
