Whats The Cause And Treatment For Cervical Pain In Elderly Male?

my father 56yr old complaining of neck [cervical] pain, and pain radiating to interscapularregion.since 3days complaining of swelling in that area...next line of management,?whether to get an X-RAY of neck /not?what might be d reason?he is know case of diabetes mellitus sine 18 yrs.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Need to rule out spondylosis of cervical spine along with cardiac problem or possible aneurysm of aorta.
2. Will require cervical spine and chest x-ray.
3. ECG and then based on ECG findings, an MRI might be necessary.
