Whats The Long Term Prognosis Of Cardiomyopathy?

My husband was recently diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. His ejection fraction is 25%. What is his long term prognosis? He is 47 years old. His mother died of cardiomyopathy at the age of 66. Also, he is a contractor by trade. What does this mean for him in terms of work?
