I am a 77 y/o male with chronic nasal congestion, usually clear watery or stringy mucus drainage, very ocassionally gets thick, yellowish, blood tinged. There is accompanying sinus drainage when sitting or standing. No accompanying fever, headaches. Have seen many doctors with diagnoses of allergic Rhinitis and sinusitis, colds, sometimes with secondary infection. Have tried antihistamines, decongestants, fluticasone nasal sprays, antibiotics, saline nasal and sinus irrigations with no lasting results. Had this since childhood. My father and grandfather had the same problem. What is next, are there immune modulators other than steroids?, surgical?
