Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is 3.5 yrs old. I gave her advil for a fever of 39.4 . this was 4.5 hrs ago. the advil is supposed to last 6-8 hrs . she started trembeling in her sleep , and her temperature just got back up to 39.5. her body is cold but her head is hot. should i wait for the 6 hour mark before giving her more medication?
I am so sorry to hear about this high temperature. I will recommend that you use another fever medication like tylenol in the mean time so as to stay true to the dosage and frequency of advil. Also, dress the baby light, apply cold towels and make sure she drinks enough so as not to get dehydrated.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
