When I Woke Up From Neck/spine Surgery, My Left Hand

When I woke up from neck/spine surgery, my left hand was in horrific pain, couldn't even touch it. When I told the nurse, she just said it was nerves from the surgery. IV needle stayed in my hand but nothing was connected to it. When I got to my room I mentioned to nurse again, was told the same thing. Horrendous pain, couldn't even touch the hand. The next day they finally took out the needle. It took more than 2 weeks for the pain to get better. Now over 2 months later, there is still a little nodule on the wrist of that hand and whenever I move my arm a certain way, I have horrible pain shooting through the arm. Could this arm pain be related to the IV infiltration which is what they said it probably was?
