When Can I Carry Heavy Platters After Being Operated For Carpel Tunnel Syndrome?

I have been a server and a bartender for thirty some years. I have carried heavy platters, trays and various other items. I am scheduled for open carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. My question is when will I be able to go back to carrying heavy platters of biscuits and gravy?
