When Can I Start Normal Diet In Case Of Abdominal Hernia?

I was seen in the ER today for acute abd;distention,bloating,nausea,no vomiting;A CT of the abd;was done and showed no small bowel obst;However an abd;hernia was diag;at my iliostomy takedown site.Take down was two years ago.Question is 1.I have not had a BM for two days is that a concern?2.The hernia reduced itself and I was referred to a surgeon.How soon should should I make the appointment?3.Can I slowley get back to a reg;diet?Thankyou jim Kappen

1) No concern about the lack of a bowel movement

2) This isn't an emergency but you should go ahead a schedule the appt

3) Yes you can resume a regular diet
