When Do Periods Begin After Taking Meprate?

Hi Doc I took Ipill on the last day of my period. Now my Periods are over due by 16 days ... I got pregnancy test done and its negative. Doctor recommend me to take meprate for 10 days. one tablet a day. I want to know if I should actually take it or shall I wait for my periods to come naturally. If I take meprate then when will I get my periods. Is it safe to do one course for 10days and once periods are regular then leave it
