When Do Periods Begin After Taking Provera?

On the 16th of September I was put on provera. I was given 5 pills to take throughout the week. At the end of the dosage , I was told it takes two weeks for me to start my period . I was suppose to start on the 7th of October and it has been two days since the day I am suppose to start . Is something wrong? How long does it usually take for it to activate ? Should I call my doctor ? Please help !

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Your periods should ideally start by 1 week after stopping hormonal medications like Provera.
In case the delay is more than 10 days, you need to seek medical attention by consulting Gynecologist for evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
