When Is Medication Changed From Oxycodone To Gabapentin And Nortriptyline?

why would my doctor try to change my pain pills from oxycodone to gabapentin and nortriptylin. I take 5 mg tablets of oxycodone . I receive 6 tablets a day , but don t always use them all. I have severe back pain, caused by severe right neural foraminal stenosis, moderate to severe right and left neural stenosis, moderate to severe bilateral c5-c6 neural foraminal, there s more, but I hope this is enough. I don t abuse drugs, never have. I also have cirrhosis of the liver not due to alcohol (hcc)
