Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor, our family doctor gave the second dose of Twinrix to our six years kids 7 days after the first dose. We read that the second dose should be given 0ne month after the first dose. We are worried about this. Is there any problem about giving the second dose too early?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I have read your question, you are very right that the schedule of twinrix is 3 doses given on day o, 1 month and 6 month, however some times an accelerated schedule is advised that is day 0, day 7 and 21(or 30 days) days, it has a similar efficacy. So you don't need to worry if you have been given the accelerated schedule.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
