Hi, I need to fast for a blood test for a routine physical. I am working, so I like to eat breakfast before I go to work. I will eat breakfast about 2:30 am. I will fast after that, when is a good time to have my blood drawn? Thankyou for your time....
In order to find the level of glucose in blood fasting blood glucose level is also taken. In order to have this test and get a correct reading, it is better to do this in mornings after being fast for 8 to 10 hours.
Normally your level should be less than 100mg/deciliter.
100 to 125 mg/dl indicates prediabetes and greater than 126 suggests diabetes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar,
Dentist
