Hi Mahesh,
I have gone through your history and have understood the dilemma you are facing.
Your doctor had advised her correct dose. In fact she could have taken the two tablets of
Cytolog together.
Usually 4 hours after Cytolog but within 72 hours after the first tablet, the
abortion process begins. However, the delay may be prolonged also.
Little spotting has started and she is having pain in the abdomen also. Mostly she should abort in a day or two.
If within 7 days the abortion is not complete, you have to report to your Obstetrician.
No bleeding can be due to:
1. Failure of the medicines. In such case you may have to repeat the dose or go for evacuation. Continuation is not advisable as it is harmful to the baby.
2. Missed abortion: Baby becomes non-viable and still not aborted. Evacuation required. Delay may cause serious complications like bleeding due to
clotting disorder (DIC)
3. Ectopic
Pregnancy : Pregnancy outside the uterus, mostly in the tubes. Needs immediate intervention. Rupture of tube causes serious bleeding in the abdomen.
The diagnosis can be arrived at by
ultrasonography and few examinations.
After 7 days, please report to your Obstetrician for further follow up/ intervention.
