Doctor, My 4 year old daughter s finger got injured due to a dumbbell.the nail was hanging.blood loss. I took her to a surgeon immediately.x ray showed no fracture but nail was removed. It s been a week now and the finger tip is sort of bluish black with some scab.is there anything to worry. Wen will it heal?.
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. The finger tip is blue black due to haematoma formation or blood collection. The color would improve as the haematoma resolves. Nail would grow back too completely in a month or two. However if the matrix is injured nail growth may be delayed or irregular. Right now nothing needs to be done, just keep the area clean. Hope this helped. Take care
