Where In Arkansas Can We Get Treatment For Sudden Movements In Body In A Patient With A Family History Of Huntington Disease?
I HAVE A FRIEND WHOSE FATHER HAD HUNTINGTON DISEASE. SHE IS GETTING REALLY JERKY AT PUTTING ON THE BRAKES AND SHE MAKES SUDDEN MOVEMENTS ALOT. iS THERE A PLACE IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS WHERE SHE CAN BE DIAGNOSED AND RECEIVE TREATEMENT WHICH WILL DELAY THE PROGRESS OF THE DISEASE?
It is understandable for your friend to be concerned. There are different tests that are available that may be able to determine if your friend has the condition.
Genetic tests are available that can check whether the gene change that is associated with this condition, is present in your friend. Imaging tests such as CT or MRI can also be done.
She may want to consult a neurologist. Her doctor may be able to refer to a neurologist in the area. If this is not an option then there are web pages available that can help you locate a neurologist in your area. Examples are web md physician directory, healthgrades.com, american medical association doctor finder.
I hope this helps
