Hi Welcome to HCM - Glad to help you
For immediate pain relief I would suggest consulting an Orthopedic Surgeon. He can help you ease your pain with
NSAID painkillers. Avoid taking any over the counter painkillers.
Please also take care to :
->Rest your knee as much as possible - avoid putting weight on it
-> To decrease the inflammation & pain you can use icepacks - do it for 20 mins every 4 hours until you get some relief.
-> Try to keep your knee on a pillow when you are sitting or lying down
-> Wear a
knee brace so that your knee does not get injured again.
->You can try some stretching and strengthening exercises only if your doctor approves them.
I would also advice you to stay away from
Vicodin unless your doctor prescribes it because its associated with serious side effects.
Hope this helps - Dr Sumit Mazumder
