Which Gland Could Have Been Removed During A Tailbon Surgery?

I am currently recovering from surgery on my tailbon I had a pilinodal abcess and had it surgically removed and now have an open wound my surgeon mentioned that I could have a gland taken out to prevent it from reoccurring as this is not the first time . What gland can they remove and what is the procedure and recovery

It is possible that you may be referring to a cyst.

This is a sac which can repeatedly collect fluids that can become infected.

If the cyst itself is removed then it would prevent reinfection from occurring.

The removal of a cyst is normally a minor procedure with minimal complications.
