Which Is First Preferred Cataract Surgery Or Extraction Of Tooth?
Hi, My father is 65 years old. He needs a cataract surgery for his left eye. At the same time he has only 4 teeth left so doctor suggested that these teeth be extracted & a full set of artificial teeth be fitted. My question is should we do cataract surgery before extraction of tooth or after.
Hello It seems from the history that your father needs cataract surgery and tooth extraction. Both are not related to each other and depending on the need he can undergo any one procedure. He can undergo cataract surgery first if he is having advanced cataract but after undergoing cataract surgery tooth extraction should be avoided for atkeadt 4 weeks after cataract surgery.
Thank you
