Which Is The Best Treatment For Non-bacterial Prostatitis?

Hello. I am having problems with pain and a slight vibration at the lower tip of my penis and what is like an irritation at the base of my penis. This has been happening for about 7 months. No issues with urination and been tested for STD s and everything is negative. Have done tests with urologist and been told that I have a form of non-bacterial Prostatitis. Have tried Sitz baths, Saw Palmetto , and anti-inflammatory medications with no success. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

Sometimes Non Bacterial Prostatitis may be bacterial so a 2 weeks trial of antibiotics can be taken. Antibiotics may include ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin or trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. If there seems to be any improvement then a complete course of 4 weeks should be continued. For pain continue with NSAIDs and for numbness gabapentin can be taken. Success of Saw Palmetto is very less as evident.
If medical treatment fails, transurethral microwave thermotherapy (TUMT) can be taken. It has a success rate in about 70% of patients.
