Which Symptoms Of Abscessed Tooth Need Immediate Medical Attention?
Was advised by a triage nurse to take my husband into the ER regarding his abscessed tooth symptoms (high fever, chills , and vomiting, and has had hyper tension issues in past) he has a dental tomorrow, so now my question is what is a sign I need to call 911 since he refuses to be seen tonight. ?
As per your query high fever, chills and vomiting are not commonly seen symptoms of abscessed tooth rather can be due to any infection in the body which can be commonly viral..
There can however be a number of other causes with similar symptoms.. It can be seen in case of abscessed tooth, in case if you have active symptoms of abscessed tooth like deep decay leading severe pain, swelling and pus formation..
In case if you have dental infection along with these symptoms then only they can be probably related and in this condition you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and an x ray can help in diagnosis and either root canal treatment or extraction of tooth will help in permanent resolution if it is the cause..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
