White Bumps On Back Of Tongue, Painful. History Of Fever And Sore Throat. What Is This?
My question was regarding herpangina. About a month ago, I had a sudden fever and than an instant severe sore throat....I couldn't swallow so couldn't eat or drink anything for 3 days. After about 6 - 7 days I was pretty much back to normal, the doctors thought I had strep throat and I was treated for that. Now almost exactly two weeks after I got better, I came down with another infection. This a different doctor looked at me and thought I had herpangina....I can see whitish bumps on the back of my tongue. The difference is that the pain isn't as bad this time and its lasting longer? Is it possible that it was herpangina the first time and I am having the same infection on right after the other?
I have gone through your query regarding sore throat and white bumps on back of tongue giving rise to pain on degulitition.
I am suspecting that most probably you are suffering from Acute tonsillopharyngitis. The white white bump, you have seen is actually the slough or there may be thruss.
I would like to suggest you to please take-
(1) Warm saline gargling.
(2) Tab paracetamol
(3) Decongestant.
I hope above treatment will help you otherwise ENT consultation will become necessary to plnpolnt the diagnosis.
Regards.
