White Patches Near Groin, Peeling Skin, Redness. How Do I Treat It?
i am 15 years old, and i recently i saw white patches near my groin . it used to scratch at first, and then the skin would peel off, now its read and the skin is worn off, i have tried using vaseline, helped just reducing the skin damage, but not the patch. The patch is dark and red! what may be this patchand how do i treat it?
hi..thanks for your query
In order to prevent the scratching you may have oral anti allergic tablets.Use topical anti fungal creams containing clotrimazole twice a day for the next 3-4 weeks.Do not touch the patches as you already seem to have an erosion from scratching.Hence just do the above for the new few weeks and try to se it after that. The white itchy patches may be from Candidal infection ,which is a common and very well treatable condition.Only in case of very persistent lesions ,Oral anti fungal therapy may be required .
