White Sore Underneath Skin Fold Of Stomach. Bandage With Antibacterial Ointment Used. Will This Affect Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
I just took a shower and noticed that I have a sore the size of a nickel underneath the skin fold of my stomach. It is white. I have had redness due to moisture before, but never a sore. I am having the Gastric Sleeve surgery a week from today and am worried that this will affect it. I put a bandage on it with some antibacterial ointment. Is that the right thing to do?

Hi thanks for writing to H.C.M.It seems you are suffering from intertrigo.Do not apply antibiotic or bandage over it.It will make skin more moist and can worsen condition.Keep area dry and clean.Start using antifungal powder at day time.Apply a steroid antibiotic combination like candid b for it.It will recover well and will not cause any problem for your surgery.
