White Spots On Tongue, Drooling, Mild Fever And Lost Appetite. Advice?
Hi, I m concerned about my 15 month old son. Today I noticed a number of white spots on his tongue , not large, about the size of pin head. He has also been drooling excessively for the past two days and a low grade fever (nothing higher than 38). He s also been off his food, only really eating cold things. Generally not happy.
Thanks for your query .
The boy is probably having oral thrush a common fungal infection of mouth.
Can use mycostatin oral suspension 1 ml 4 times a day for local tongue application.
For fever you can use panadol in appropriate doses .
If there is no improvement in 48 hrs or so please get him checked by your GP.
Also keep him well hydrated by giving frequent cold liquids & feeds as usual.
Hope you find the information useful
