I am experiencing excessive flatulence very smelly- three days ago sat on the toilet all day with an urge to have a bowel movement but nothing happened despite attempting at least 20-25 times. No abdominal pain or cramps. That night took laxative and next day had very little to pass - second night took laxative again and passed small amounts of movements but was happy at least to pass something. I was so stressed on the first day I really feel it contributes to the problem as it makes me housebound for many hours. I have underactive thyroid and certainly lactose intolerant. Do not feel constipated but just a big urge to go - whats wrong
