Why Am I Having No Bleeding After Taking Mifiprin Tablets For Abortion Since Baby Did Not Have Heart Beats?
i am 10 weeks pregnant and yesterday i happen to visit my doc for ultra sound scan. she told me my baby doesnot have heart beat and said it is missed abortion, she has asked me to take 2 mifiprin tablets which i have already taken yesterday. But no pains or bleeding still? what is happening with me?
You have taken mifepristone yesterday. You will probably be prescribed misoprostol tablets to be taken 36-48 hours after mifepristone. Bleeding usually begins 48-72 hours after the first tablet.
I suggest that you ask your doctor for misoprostol and then wait for bleeding. It may take some time to abort in missed abortion as the main mechanism of action of mifepristone is by blocking the progesterone action. Progesterone is already low in missed abortion hence mifepristone may sometimes fail to act and sometimes the process may remain incomplete needing an evacuation.
