Why Am I Having Severe Cramping Pain In Right Side?

My daughter is having severe cramping pain on her right side. She has had an ovarian cyst in the past. About 3 months ago, she was seen in the ER for the same pain. No cyst was found, but pain meds were given. At a follow up ultrasound, all that was found was a lot of matter in her bowel. I suspect it was after days of using the pain meds and not the initial problem.
She is not constipated and had a bm today. Her period ended 3 days ago.

Hello madam, your history is incomplete, you did not mention about your daughters age,her menustrual history, exact site of pain, does the pain radiate to any other site, does she have any other symptoms apart from pain like nausea, vomiting or fever. I would suggest you to consult your gynaecologist, only after a detail history and if required an examination can the cause be detected.she may require an ultrasound if necessary basing on the examination.Hope u was helpful to you.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

If an ultrasound reported no abnormalities then we should be able to rule out a problem with the reproductive system. But you could request for a repeat ultrasound just to make sure.

You should also understand that there are many other parts located in that region that can cause pain or irradiate pain to the location. So if there was a bowel abnormality, this should be further investigated.

Hope this helps ma'am.

Best wishes.
