Why Am I Not Getting Withdrawal Symptoms After Quitting Smoking?
Hi, I quit smoking 11 months ago, and have been chewing 2 mg nicorette gum x10 pieces per day ever since.I am 49 yrs old male, was never a heavy smoker, and I work out regularly. I have been reading literature on long term effects of nicotine, such as increased BP, harm to dental, jaw etc. so far I feel great, with none of those symptoms. My question is should I worry and quit nicotine gum as well?

Why Am I Not Getting Withdrawal Symptoms After Quitting Smoking?
Hello, Welcome to Healthcare Magic. Nicotine gums are given as nicotine replacement therapy. It help in de-addiction by preventing nicotine withdrawal due to smoking cessation. But it is used for only for few months. You are using ten 2mg gums per day. It can be reduced by decreasing 1 gum every week. This slow tapering will also prevent withdrawal in your case. Wishing you good health and all the best. www.99doctor.com
