i m 50 yr old women. i got heart attack about 4 yrs ago and i m taking lowplat extra. now a days, i experience heel pain usually in both feet immediately on standing and on walking after my sitting position. but just after slight walking, pain disappears. i also experience pain in wrist after doing some work. what may be the cause?
Hello faiza. Thanks for visiting healthcaremagic.com. First, your heart attack is not related to these issues.
The bilateral foot pain that you are experiencing is plantar fascitis. Plantar fascitis is inflammation of the very large tendon on the bottom of your feet. The pain associated with this symptom is pain upon immediately standing and gets better throughout the day. Treatment involves NSAID to decrease the inflammation in the tendon as well as fascial rest and occasionally some inserts in your shoes can also help the pain.
The pain in your wrist, especially after doing work, is probably carpal tunnel syndrome. This is caused by constriction of a tendon in your wrist and causes numbness in the thumb and the first and second digit. I would advise seeing your physician if any of these issues become more painful to you.
Be well, Dr. Kimberly
