Why Am I Getting Severe Pain In Thighs After C-section ?

I have severe pain in my left left localized on the outer thigh from the knee up. It started after having a C section 6 weeks ago. I was given a spinal tap anestetic to numb me and keep me awake during the procedure. The area of my left leg is numb and sensitive to touch. Then sharp prickly pain shoots through it like electric shock or pins sticking me. Pain medication has not taken this pain away. It has been unbearable. I have had Sciatic Nerve pain before in the right leg but it was not the same feeling I m having now in my left. This has been going on since May 10, 2011 (A little over 6 weeks). Carla

welcome to healthcaremagic
please consult your anaesthatist who administered spinal anaesthasia
epidural blocks may be helpful
you needto be examined and find out the cause of such severe pain and investigations to be done to rull out any root pressure or any inflammation
please consult neurologist and get a check up
