Why Am I Having Increased Heart Beat And Shortness Of Breath In 14th Week Of Pregnancy?

I am 14 weeks pregnant. My heart rate at rest is 110. When standing it jumps to 120-130. I get lightheaded, dizzy and if I stand for longer than 5 minutes I start getting short of breath and have to sit down. I know some tachycardia is normal but I feel like this is not normal.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

In many instances of increased heart rate in pregnancy , there is no significant issues and no treatment is needed but it would be best for you to be assessed to determine if this is the case for you.

A heart of 120 to 130 is high and warrants further investigations such as an ECG which looks at the rate and rhythm of the heart beat.

Blood tests may also be suggested to take a look at your blood count and check the thyroid.

I hope this helps
