Why Are ESR And CRP Tests Advised Post Spinal Fusion Surgery?

i have a spinal fusion that the normal pain and stiffness has changed cover the last several months. my surgeon is concerned about infection and i want to understand the special blood test he has ordered?v ESR and CRP I think are the important ones he mentioned...

K. Hi, see CRP is elevated in infective and inflammatory condition.
It is used after major surgery to monitor patient condition.
Usually after surgery its level elevated.CRP level comes to normal after usually 07 days.Still if after week,if its level not decreasing then there might be infection.So for monitoring CRP and ESR done.
