Why Are The Sides Of My Mouth Are Getting Chapped Inspite Of Keeping Myself Hydrated?

Is this something that I should see a doctor about? The sides of my mouth, not my lips per se are very chapped. In fact last week one side started bleeding. I am 62 yrs young and am a male. I try to stay hydrated but I am hoping that it is nothing more than a lack of adequate water and nothing else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having cracks at angle of mouth.
Due to dryness of the part one gets cracks and some infection giving rise to bleeding.
Apply antibiotic cream locally.
Go for short antibiotic medicine course for healing.
Take B.complex and Folic acid tablets for few days.
Take plenty of water.
Ok and take care.
