Why Can T A Person Take Klonopin And Risperadol With AFIB?
I am a nursing student trying to understand a patient I had this past weekend in clinical. She was admittied for AFIB, however she had a history of taking klonopin, and risperadol for 20 years. There was much discussion about why she couldn t take these drugs in hospital. can you help me understand why?

Both klonopin andresparadol are given in seizure.Thetreatment is long standing. For both the drugs liver function and renal functiontest is to be done.Depression suicidal tendency is to be watched.Contraindicated in glacauma asthma. Inresperadol alcohal tobe avoided cholesterol is to be tested she has to take the drug daily keeping in veiw the disease she is suffering. The doctor must have briefed her does and dont.

2. No antipsychotic is FDA approved for treatment in elderly, one has to weigh the risk and benefits to see if taking the medication will be beneficial or not. All antipsychotics have the potential to increase the QT interval which could cause the AFIB to get worse.
