Why Did I Suddenly Have High BP, Headache And Increased Heart Beat Rate?
Felt like I was going to faint, My heart was pounding and I became tingly all over for about 8 hours. Headache, BP was 167/79 heart rate up 105. Normally my BP is 120 to 130 on top and 60 to 64 on bottom HR normally around 66 to 70. BS was 125 non fasting. I went to a small clinic had a EKG done which was normal, No labs taken at that time. I took a hydrocodone for Headache and of course that brought my BP down as well. However my BP has been up since I experienced that episode. I also feel light headed. I am a 50 yr old female and I have never had high BP. I do not take any other medications regularly only PRN.
I am so sorry to hear about this sudden increase in blood pressure. This could have been the symptoms that led to the diagnosis of hypertension in your case. Each time we get stressed, frightened, anxious, our blood pressure can increase more than usual. In this light, I will suggest that you follow up with your doctor to determine what the exact cause of this is.
