Why Do I Have Persistent Vaginal Infection With Odor?

Hi doctor Gud evening, i want to ask my sister has infection that she has been treating goin to a year nw , she jst use medicine given to her by a pharmacist, i noticed ants on her undies, and some foul smell from her vaginal does she need to go to a doctor is it normal, or dangerous to her health

Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of poor hygiene. Ants on the undies is indicative that the clothe are not washed properly and you are sweating too much. Ants are attracted to dirty and sweaty, sugary & starchy clothing. You are advised to get your blood sugar level checked (F/PP).

Fishy odor is symptomatic of bacterial vaginosis. It is treated with a course of metronidazole. Yeast infection also causes odor & is treated with a course of oral antifungal medicine. Apply antifungal vaginal tables at bedtime for 5-7 days. Trichomonas infection is sexually transmitted infection and also causes bad odor.

Get STD tests done so that you can be treated with antibiotics and antivirals. Other causes of persistent infection with odor may be due to retained tampon left for several days. Poor hygiene after intercourse and menstruation.
