Why Do I Have Severe Abdominal Cramps After An Endometriosis Surgery? Will Surgery For Adhesion Further The Pain?

Hi I am a 52 year old woman who at the age of 35 in 1996 was diagnosed and operated on for Endometriosis which my surgeon described as severe. Two years later after the symptoms did not go I was given further keyhole surgery for adhesions around my bowel. Still unable to control the pain in 2004 I was given a LAVH. The symptoms went although in 2009 I started to experience nausea and bowel disturbances with some cramping pain. In September 2013 I was in severe pain again - it felt like the original period pain. After a scan I went in for surgery again on 1 October and it was discovered that the adhesions had stuck my bowel and this time also my bladder to the abdominal wall with my left ovary covered in cysts (the largest one was 5cm x 4cm which in my surgeons words - went off like a grenade in my abdomen ). My right ovary was not in great shape and on that side my appendix was now also involved. The mess around my left ovary had trapped the main artery to my left leg as well causing a long protracted operation to unstick everything. I had a bilateral salpingo oophorectomy with excision of adhesions on absolutely everything. Two months on and I am in pain when my bowel has anything in it. I have stopped eating all gluten and non gluten replacement breads etc. I have stopped all spicy food as well as red meat raw vegetables and fruit as well as nuts. I have Metamucil twice a day with soft stool pills from the doctor who says I cant remain on them and should look at natural medicines. As it stands now I am in good spirits and want to actively find solutions. I am however getting more and more scared that this is the beginning of something that will eventually finish me off. I am in pain that stops me sleeping and I have questions. Can you recommend a diet that would be suitable long term? Could the damage to my appendix cause appendicitis? What else can I do to improve my situation? I am concerned that with the extensive scarring on my bowel that I need to know what I can do to reduce the chances of my bowel twisting or blocking as I know this can precipitate life threatening surgery which I obviously want to avoid at all costs. I really appreciate another set of eyes on this as I just feel that what I am facing is the great unknown and my docs are not able to advise. Regards Vicky
