Why Do I Have Swelling, Red Bumps And Discharge In Vagina?
I am haveing a white discharge along with my labia being swollen and little red bumps along the labia edge and around the inside of the labia. Also I will have a spot of blood every once in a while and it burns badly when I pee. I thought it was a yeast infection but the meds aren't working and it keeps coming back. Could it be genital herpies?
The pustules you are observing around the labia could be due to herpes or Gonorrhoea. Please report to the STI specialist ASAP.
Gonorrhoea can be treated by antibiotics completely. Herpes is a self limiting viral infection; however care should be taken to prevent the secondary bacterial infections, spread and reinfections by proper hygiene. You may be given antiviral medicines if needed.
Gonorrhoea may coexist with syphilis; hence it is advisable to get your blood examined for VDRL test. If it is positive, Penicillin will cure it completely.
Since you have got sexually transmitted infection, both the partners should take the treatment simultaneously and avoid sexual relations till both of you are declared cured.
Hope this helps you.
