Why Does Heart Rate Increase After Climbing Up And Down Stairs?
I was wondering why heart rates would increase so much after climbing up and down the stairs. I know that in order for oxygen to go to the muscles fast enough, the heart beats faster to make the blood flow faster. But there seems to be a significant difference when I climb up the stairs when compared to just the usual jumping jacks and such. Why is this?
Climbing involves muscle work.
You need energy to work.
The energy is supplied by the blood.
There are a few ways for this - increase the amount per beat (Stroke volume) / increase the rate.
Initially and in untrained, the rate is the prime factor.
With training, they can change.
In long time and in altitudes, there are other adaptations...
Take care
God bless
Good luck
