i have had 9 episodes of decreased fetal movements but each time the baby s heart trace has been reassuring, my placenta is anterior so its been suggested that is why i sometimes do not feel the baby. it has been suggested i see a consultant but i am due for a home birth and do not want to be told to go to hospital. i am 38 weeks now.
Hello dear,i understand your concern. In my opinion the fetal movements are said to be decreased when the fetal movement count is less than 10 in a period of 12 hours. So check and count the fetal movements for a span of 12 hours daily. If the count is less then the fetal distress should be ruled out by proper examination and the consultation might be needed. So relax. Also lie down preferably in left or right lateral position. Best regards..Dr.Srilatha
