Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

I suspect that you could have damaged either the meniscus or the cruciate ligaments in the knee joint that is causing you the symptoms.

A preliminary xray is needed to rule out any minor bony injury. An MRI scan is necessary to know the extent of damage either to the meniscal cartilages or the cruciate ligaments.

Initially, follow the PRICE (PROTECTION, REST, ICE PACKING, COMPRESSION BANDAGE & ELEVATION OF THE LIMB) regime as a first aid measure.

Consult an orthopedic surgeon for a detailed evaluation and definitive management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
