Why Does One Feel Heavy On The Chest?

I am 58 years old and over weight. Yesterday evening I had a heaviness feeling on my chest and my right arm had some tingling sensation. I did take an aspirin. It lasted several hours and finally I fell asleep. Is this something to be concerned about? Thank you.

hello
thanks for posting at healthcaremagic.
your symptoms do look typical for a cardiac incident. aspirin one dose will not help you solve the root cause. you must get evaulated with an EKG, 2D ECHO and cardiac enzymes. they will help you rule out whether you had a recent acute cardiac event. If the above are normal then do a treadmill test which will show if there is any deficiency if blood supply to the heart. based on the results further course of action can be decided.
the above symptoms can be caused by hyperacidity also, but its always better to rule out considering your age and weight.
wishing you good health
thank you
