Why Does The Fever Come Back After Every Four Hours ?
My child just recently started with a fever beginning yesterday afternoon. He didn t eat solid foods well but takes his bottle with no problem. He did have a random cough here and there throughout the night. What do you think he might have and should I take Jim to the er? His fever went up to 100.6 and came down with fever reducer but comes back every four hours. He just got off antibiotics for an ear infection Friday.

Hi,
Your seems to have upper respiratory tract infection.
Continue giving him fever reducer[paracetamol] and cough syrup like ascoril.
Start steam inhalation. Continue giving food solid/ liquid as he wants.
To rule out lower respiratory infection and need for antibiotics ,you need consultation with pediatrician.

It seems that your child's ear infection has not been fully resolved and has probably recurred. It is very common for an infection in the ear to spread to the nose and the throat. The decision to take your child to the ER will depend on his age. If he is about 1-2 years old, it would be best to take him to the ER. Otherwise, you can schedule an appointment with his paediatrician in a few days. Also, give him steam inhalation and put saline nasal drops 1-2 drops in each nostril.
For the fever, continue with the Tylenol and sponging with lukewarm water.

First of all like to inform you when there is fever there must be an infection anywhere in the body.You have mentioned about about the cough and a ear infection so there is possibility of infection is respiratory tract or inside ear.As per my view your son needs medical help from your pediatrician for proper checkup.Though you can give him medication for fever according to his body weight.
