Why Does The Stomach Hurts Every Time Having Food And Has Severe Acid Reflux And GERD?

My husbands stomach hurts every time he eats, it burns, feels blotted and has real bad acid reflex, he know and had been diagnosed with GERD, he had several tests done and an endoscope was done, he has 50+ polyps in his stomach. This has been going on for 2 months now, and it's getting worst. He was referred to a gastroligist in Kalamazoo and we still haven't heard from anyone to get him in to see. Our Dr. is sending out referrals and we did hear back from one, but he can not be seen till Feb. 28th. He has a family history of stomach cancer. He has already had colon cancer and been free of that. He had a colonostpy at the same time as the endoscopy. He has had CT scans, X rays, the whole nine yards, this is frustrating and scary for him. He is in chronic pain from the last 15 surgeries, on everything from knee replacement to 8 spine surgeries, with titanium rods in his neck and back, he is pretty much fused together. He is going through epiduro treatments now for a spine pain, the next one will be mon. the one last mon. he had only lasted a week. But the stomach pain is the biggest concern. How do we get him in before Feb 28th. A person shouldn't have to suffer for another couple months before the consultation is done, only to be told you need to see someone else and wait another 2 month? My husband is very active, walks 3 miles a day, rain or shine, blizzard or not. He is 67 years old. So he isn't a couch potato. We are going nuts! Please help! Thank you, Kelli Hofacker

Hello there!
Your husband needs a competent gatro enterologist as it is more than stomach pain. but for your gerd here are some tips they will help

Life style and diet modifications are mostl you need.
Losing weight (if overweight)
Avoiding alcohol, chocolate, citrus juice, and tomato-based products
Avoiding peppermint, coffee, and possibly the onion family[8]
Eating small, frequent meals rather than large meals
Waiting 3 hours after a meal to lie down
Refraining from ingesting food (except liquids) within 3 hours of bedtime
Elevating the head of the bed 8 inches
Avoiding bending or stooping positions
Pharmacotherapy

It still a trouble then
The following medications are used in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease:

H2 receptor antagonists (eg, ranitidine, cimetidine, famotidine, nizatidine)
Proton pump inhibitors (eg, omeprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole)
Prokinetic agents (eg, aluminum hydroxide)
Antacids (eg, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide)
