Why Is Duphaston Prescribed When Trying For Pregnancy?

Hi,I am trying for pregnancy.my gynic prescribe me duphaston for 10 days.I have 34 days period cycle.but from 30 th day I got light brown/red bleeding(no need to use pad).it last for 5 days.now I m on 35th day.but still didn t get my period.what could be the reason?

Hi,

Duphaston given at the specific period helps in conception and stability of the embryo. That's why we prescribe it to precious pregnancies. Please continue with the medicine as advised. The spotting you have according to your menstrual habit which is just spotting and stops in 4-5 days. It can be in normal course.

In case your period date is delayed by 8 days, go for home pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy and consult your doctor immediately of the test is positive (be careful to use non contaminated container and urine sample for test.)
