Why Is Pregnyl Shots Prescribed During Pregnancy With History Of Miscarriage?
Hello. My name is Sameer. My wife had 2 miscarriages in the past. She is 23 years old in 2016. One lasted 7 weeks and the other lasted 11 weeks. Now after almost a year, we again got pregnant. Now our doctor in start put us on following medicines: Folic Acid, loprene, prednislone (5mg *5), clexane 20 mg and cyclogest 400 mg daily. We did ultra sound after 7 and half weeks and it came out positive with a heart beat. Now our doctor has asked for a new injection Pregnyl 5000iu, to be inserted in hip muscle once a week. We were a little curious about Pregnyl 5000iu as what I read on most forums, Pregnyl 5000iu is mostly used before one get pregnant. So can you please suggest what it is for? Is it a normal thing and what can we do to make it more secure. Your help would be much appreciated

Since your wife had a USG done to see the fetal well being & the report shows a healthy seven and a half weeks fetus with FHS (fetus heart sounds), there is need to make nutritious homemade food, avoid stress, avoid doing any heavy work, take adequate sleep & stay at rest.
There is no need to take Pregnyl. It is given in the early gestation to prevent miscarriage by some doctors. It is given just after ovulation(luteal phase) to support pregnancy.
